Management of multi-provider networks is a key challenge for today's telecommunications management systems. Both telecommunication information architecture (TINA) and the TMForum provide support for such an environment. While these industrial fora have provided architecture frameworks for the design and implementation of management systems for a multi service provider and network provider management environments the advanced communications technologies and services (ACTS) program has validated these approaches in many cases and extended the architecture approaches when required.
