Funding Information: RAJIB RANA received the Ph.D. degree in computer science and engineering from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia, in 2011. He is currently a Vice Chancellor’s Research Fellow with the Institute of Resilient Regions, University of Southern Queensland (USQ), and an Honorary Fellow with The University of Queensland. He is the Founder of the IoT-Health Laboratory, USQ, where he leads the research on early detection of mental illness and autism spectrum disorder. His current research interests are in deep learning neural networks, quantified self, personal health informatics, and the Internet of Things and he is passionate about human health as the application domain. He was a recipient of the President’s and the Prime Minister’s Gold Medals for his extraordinary achievement in his bachelor’s degree in 2004. Since 2011, he has received a number of research grants, including the Queensland Health Innovation Grant (in 2014 and 2016), the USQ Major Infrastructure Grant, and the UNSW Post-Doctoral Writing Fellowship. He is the Lead Guest Editor of the special issue on sensors: deep learning and wearable sensing. |
