The medical profession are one of the most educated people in the world. However, how does this profession adopt and uptake new information technologies for learning and professional engagement. This paper reviews theories of innovation and adoption from the information systems literature to analysis the adoption of information and communication technologies by the medical profession in the Kosovo. It uses findings from a grounded approach in an attempt to develop a new model for technology acceptance. Thereby opening an avenue of research for control and automation systems theory and practice, which could inform policy in respect of the e-readiness of the medical profession especially in post-conflicit regions.
